Donald Trump’s travel ban is back and it’s bigger than ever.
Right, with the White House banning travel to the U.S. for citizens of 12 countries –
As well as barring those from seven other countries from settling permanently, or even entering on tourist and student visas. []
And with that, the majority of these countries are in Africa and The Middle East – and the rest are in South America, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia. []
Many of them are wracked by conflict or ruled by repressive regimes – and more than half are Muslim-majority nations.
Right, which I’m pointing out, because the first time Trump tried something like this way back in 2017?
He banned travel exclusively from Muslim-majority countries – seven of them – with this being after he called for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” during his campaign.
And with that, of course, lawyers and activists immediately challenged the so-called “Muslim Ban” in court, some judges blocked them, the administration came out with a couple different versions, and ultimately, the Supreme Court upheld the ban.
But then, of course, Joe Biden became president – quickly ending it and many of Trump’s other controversial immigration policies.
Which, of course, have returned in full force – and then some.
But while we’ve seen much of Trump’s current immigration agenda getting held up by judges, many experts claim the latest version of the travel ban is more likely to withstand legal scrutiny than during his first term.

  1. Banning a group of people from traveling to the US based on their religion is so obviously unconstitutional. The first amendment doesn't specify citizen versus non-citizen, it states no law shall be made in respect to the establishment of religion. No laws for or against any religion, dammit. We need to broaden that definition to include any laws proposed where the sole reasoning behind the legislation originates from religious doctrine, like with abortion, creationist education, and oppressive anti-lgbtq laws.

  2. All of you angry? not supporting this such as saying why isn't Egypt on there Russia etc its self explanatory no? why make illogical statements what can take a quick google research to find out why there banned your either really stupid or extremely stupid Why is Afghanistan banned the country is ran by terrorists why is Somalia Sudan Yemen banned fragile governments 80% corrupted no individual leader to speak for there country as a whole because its divided due to bandits and warlords Iran has no human rights unlike Europe what is completely human rights as its countries were built by the people so they should live free in that country unlike iran + its corrupt as hell Chad extremely weak governance can collapse at any time and has one of the highest levels of corruption and is in poverty republic of congo its whole eco is based on oil and during Russia and Ukraine oil is very bad to have as your complete dependent as your country's eco and has a corrupt government with — and to basically explain short term corrupt government if your really that stupid they could kill you and there not responsible for your death they wont even try find out who killed you instead they will hide your body and take your money and wealth and pretend like you never existed in there country unlike Russia what actually has a stabilised country even though there government is quite corrupt its not like Yemen or Iran

  3. There was a certain roman emperor who didn’t do a very good job, and uhh lets just say they where under new “management” very soon later.

  4. Does he have business interests in any of these countries? I noticed that some countries that otherwise fit the pattern are not on the list but are doing business with the family.
