A cold snap has gripped the country.
The South African Weather Service has forecast a cold front moving in from the western parts of the country, with localised snowfall expected in some areas this week.
The City of Johannesburg says its Disaster Management Team is on standby to respond to any life-threatening emergencies amid below-freezing temperatures in the coming days.
