Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lieutenant General Shadrack Sibiya has refuted allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
Mkhwanazi has implicated some senior SAPS officials in involvement in corruption. He has accused Police Minister Senzo Mchunu of being in constant communication with people involved in criminal activities. Mkhwanazi also says police have been in possession of firearms linked to the killing of high-profile South Africans, including artists in Gauteng, but no action has been taken.
Sibiya says there is no truth whatsoever in what Mkhwanazi has said.
