How is any different from using any kind of computer software?
They build them, destroy the area and people around them, and you pay for it 😂
Replace the term “data center” with “ai”. Then watch the video all over again.
Greed Greed Greed people gonna find out.
All true but corn grown for ethanol for gas uses way more water. But all of these demands on water resources need to be considered.
The amount of heat these centers will emit will cause warming and pollution like nothing else!
We are told to conserve energy and water but its ok for them to drain the grid of power and use up water.
AI… BCI brain computer interfacing with Deepfakes Artificial Intelligence software
Republican party doesn't care. They just want the money.
I think the big tech are gonna destroy the planet.
Not a single tech innovation has been game changing.
– tech for reducing CO2.
– tech for treating genetic disorders.
– tech for fighting against corruption.
– tech for make judiciary transparent.
– tech for curing Hypertension and Diabetes.
– tech for reducing homelessness, creating jobs and social equality.
As the data center disk drives fill up do they get heavy?
Quit using AI !!! We have made it this long without it.
We had a amazing guest speaker at school and he was talking about plasma drilling geothermic energy as a more ecological solution to the AI data center problem
Help Hood County Texas, we already have 1 Bitcoin Mine we are dealing with, and now they want to built not 1 but 6 Data Centers some as big as over 100 Wal-Mart Super Centers including one incompassing 2,600 acres of our rural neighborhood.
This will be the death of our County and law makers are not lifting a single finger to help us in our fight. Texas is already in a drought status.
What are our elected officials doing to protect their constituents from these data centers?
Just watching this video that tells us the bad.. is bad because we are using data to watch.
Sure would be a shame if they burned down
???
it's okay, AI will fix it back eventually
I hate Ai. Call me a Luddite, I don't care.
But this? Now this is just the cherry on top!
Meanwhile, china continues to build nuclear power plants at a mind-boggling pace. Its so sad to see the US not keeping up with this
We try to tell people as soon as they try to this. Whole thing, get rid of gasoline for cars. A lot of the smart people knew that AI data centers were already coming. This was a preemptive strike on the american taxpayer and the american people from the american government
The West is strange. First they push climate change agenda. Now they are going to invest in AI which is very bad for climate
Sad thing is, we dont even need the uses of generative ai 🤷♂️🤷♂️ its just for convenience and regratably today, a lot are using it for fraud and misinformation (no surprise)
The Lorax 2
😂 more data center = less jobs need people sitting in offices that need to turn their aircon on 24/7. Fair – Play. Maybe even cheaper for companies and better for the planet 😂 1 data center could = to 100.000 human brains put together in the offices 😂 sound like real life consequences of developing 😂 back then, at the start of industrailization, many workers lost their jobs because of machines. Then most of those born after start to find jobs in offices to manages those machines. Now. A.i turn into those who sit in the offices to manage those Machines. 😂 and so no more jobs for those Brains. 😂 because A.I is replacing those Brains 😂 opppsss…. now everyone kinda fk ddddupppp 😂
Not to mention how much money AI loses because it isn't even profitable in its current and proposed future states
There’s very few long term jobs at a data center and the few there is are in very specific areas of expertise. In fact much of the higher level tech industry jobs rarely have an applicant pool in the area they’re building and more often have to bring people from out of state with those specific skills and expertise. Just like when you go to a big hospital in a smaller town or city the overwhelming majority of doctors, RNs , technologists, lab techs , etc are not native to that area . Are there some ? Sure there’s some but the majority are there under a contract . So basically any big company that sets up shop in some small city mostly fills jobs with outside workers that they entice with good pay and training and employ very few locals
I wonder how much land you’d need in solar panels to cover the power consumption. Would a 100x or a 1000x the building footprint be enough in panels? The western states basically provide unlimited space and year round sunshine. If they’re willing to spend billions on nat gas turbines why not use that investment for a renewable energy source?
