KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Bronson Park in Kalamazoo became the site of the Black Arts Festival on Saturday.
Hosted by the Black Arts & Cultural Center, the Black Arts Festival aimed to uplift black artistry in our area, and celebrate the richness of black artistry and history, according to organizers.
Additionally, it gave small business owners within the black community the chance to indulge in community and culture.
“It feels motivating for us… to be able to embrace our culture with all our black African-Americans around here and the diversity here as well. We’re just happy to be here to be able to share our dream with the culture as well and be a part of these events,” said Ariane Gray and Charmaine Marshall, co-owners of Berries and Boards Charcuterie.
The event also included live music performances, DJ Sets, yard games, and local retail and food vendors.
