City Power says it decided to cut off electricity to Tshepisong township west of Johannesburg following threats against its technicians who were there to remove illegal electricity connections.
Residents are protesting there today.

Eskom and the municipalities should take the country serious and stop the nonsense and make sure everyone pays, we can't afford to pay electricity for people who are not spending even a single cent on electricity. Imagine buying R500 electricity only to get less than 120 Units, i mean how crazy is that?.. The people in squatters must not get electricity unless they are willing to pay or else face jail time because this thing of switching off and fining is no helping. enough is enough

  2. With the billions the ANC looted they could’ve easily funded Solar for these communities. Even places as poor as Malawi have installed solar in their villages. The ANC is a disgrace

  3. Can we also engage with Eskom to make steady prices and stop robbing us…….this thing where they reduce units is ridiculous. I don't support stealing whether it's done by Eskom or those communities.
    Eskom is not innovative they just want to do things the old way and just invent ways of taking more money from clients.
