South Africa now two police ministers

Newly sworn-in acting Police Minister, Prof. Firoz Cachalia, is hitting the ground running. The 67-year-old has officially taken office, while Minister Senzo Mchunu remains on special leave. Cachalia says he’s now in a better position to implement recommendations of an unreleased anti-corruption report, which are key to addressing intelligence failures within the police but eNCA’s Pule Letshwiti-Jones reports that he says he’ll need to work closely with the Justice Minister, as some of the proposals impact on her portfolio.
