South Africa anti-immigrant group blocks access to hospitals | DW News

Doctors without Borders has warned that an anti-immigrant group in South Africa, known as Operation Dudula, could be endangering lives, as it blocks immigrants from accessing healthcare. The country’s constitution guarantees healthcare access to everyone, regardless of nationality.
But Operation Dudula argues that government-funded facilities should only serve South Africans, and it’s vowed to escalate its actions. DW’s Dianne Hawker has this report from Johannesburg.

  1. whose everyone?? we are the citizens in this country who must benefit and who are vigilantes these are citizen initiatives that represent the people of South Africa we will not stop fighting for our legal rights as citizens in our country stop generalizing what you dont know about our country

  2. South Africa we must all stand togethet and claim our Country back. Our clinics and hospitals are overcrowded and why must we wait for years to get an appointment in our Hospital's. No country in the World can you enter without medical insurance and money on your account..😮😮😅😅

  3. I’m extremely, disgraced on how they handled illegal immigrants specially those who are our kind-Africans. I’m Not a proud Siuth African for this act. Please know fellow Africans not all of us are anti immigrant, specially with this kind of humiliation & manners. We’ve shown No humility, which is one grate principal that unite and saperate us from other nations. Very disappointed and disgraced. How will I face other African while traveling to their home country..??!?!

  4. Do we have a government in SA? Why lam saying if we have a government there could be no need to explain laws of the country [every one must access to medical treatment]this only refers to the citizens of South Africa

  5. This channel is LYING… The law says that to enter South Africa you need to have medical aid as well as papers, foreigners must go to private hospitals, it is that simple. The constitution does state that "everyone" has the right to access health services, that is in the part of the citizens, not the immigrants, that is why we have IMMIGRATION LAWS!!
