Despite being the focus of a concerted campaign to eject him from the country, Western Cape Independence protagonist Phil Craig is continuing his fight to get the province out of the country tacked together in 1910 by a colonial power. In this interview with BizNews editor Alec Hogg, the co-founder of the Cape Independence Advocacy Group explains how a five-week working trip to the US – and continued own-goals by Pretoria – has injected fresh momentum into the project.

๐Reading comments I see a lot of people are ready to ditch the DA for Cape Independence. I didn't see that coming.
I am a Canadian, a western Canadian! I have visited South Africa twice and I am encouraged by this Cape independence movement! In western Canada, especially in the province of Alberta, we have similar issues, and a similar independence movement, and a possible referendum next year. Watch us! All the best!
I agree with Hermam, he must get the f out of out country. Go back to England!
Why only for that and not for the minority groups. They also do needs support.
Yes for Cape Independence, just make sure unwanted criminals, illegal foreigners and the "free claimers, squaters" have NO access! South Africa as a whole, needs to be decentralized!
How is this British national still in South Africa, pushing his narratives, like many Zimbabweans, Nigerians, Somalians, Ethiopians with NGOs
Oh they are back with their old tactics, nothing new, divide and conquer, from European hostel migrating to African land as a colonial settler and economic migrant to perpetuate their ancestral hate, adding salt on a wood unhealed from it's colonial and apartheid error times, to rekindle their hate for Africans on African soil and take what doesn't belong to them ๐คฆ๐พโโ๏ธ๐๐ฟ, to colonize South African land again, on indigenous black African land ๐๐๐๐คฆ๐พโโ๏ธ, we are not Palestine and our ancestors โ๐ฟ
Sounds like an excellent idea to me.๐ I am All in for this Cape Independence movement.
S Africa is not your faking land live black people country alone
I'm all in for Cape independency
How blessed will they not be. Greatest idee ever for them. Just watch out for immigration. People with bo roots comes as scavengers and when they keave its when your area is devastated.
๐ฅThose clamouring for Cape Independence have forgotten about Murphys Law that says, "If you fiddle with something long enough, it will break."
Stop fiddling with 'Cape Independence'. Friends with any decency and selfrespect left never leave their buddies behind …. don't be selfish. You need federalism, not independence.
GET RID OF WINDE..FIRE HIM DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO BUT GET HIM OUT. HE DOES NOT HAVE WESTERN CAPE AT HEART ..SEND HIM TO LIMPOPO๐ ๐ ๐
Let's go for it
Not True , we all want to be governed in the same way , all this will do is make the Western Cape a banana republic for the super rich and it wont be long until they have a race relationship problems like the old apartheid government had and history will repeat itself where as you state one group of people consider themselves better than everybody else.
South Africa will solve its political problems politically. Ceasation or so called independence of the Cape is a fantasy. Will not happen. Instead, Africa will be opening up borders. Especially the SADC region. USA will not do anything about it. If anything , i would adcise you folks seek guidance within Africa.
That guy Phil Craig should be Deported back to Europe……If Europeans want independence they should go back to Europe instead of trying to take African's land again
The silence from black South Africans about this issue is deafening!
If it was other African nationals claiming independence in Cape Town the whole of black South Africa would be up and arms against that.
Yes we need this for our Afriekaaners
SA can be broken up along tribal lines.
Operation dudula must start with this British man who want to colonize western cape by smooth talking,he must go back to Britain, I'm a coloured lady, u're not going to divide us we know about you, you want to use us, you want to bring apartheid back by sweet talking us, trust me you not going to succeed
J Steenhuisen has disappointed me this whole year, the DA is starting to exhibit anc-incompetence and ideologies… I definitely won't be voting da next year. The only problem I have now is WHO to vote for.. CapeExit or the Referendum party.
Their voter base would grow at least 10% if they moved away from their Temu Scotland flag ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ
Phil like the fact that all organisations supporting CI are getting together as 1 front with the view of getting a referendum on CI
However as highly dissolutioned DA supporters we need a new political home for the next elections is it not possible to merge all organisations together an firm one political party to be in a position to get the DA out of power in the WC
I'm for a referendum
continuing to push this kak after capexit got less than 1% of the wc vote is quite frankly embarrassing for your channel
Well that wont happen
Would be a HUGE mistake.
As a young black south african in the western cape, growing and seeing the injustice of my people on a daily basis under a system that wont liberate persons of colour, i do not support this move.
I keep seeing people in the comments talking about eastern cape immigrants. You guys forgot that the western cape also belongs to us, we were here from the onset. So stop this agenda of pushing us out we belong here, like it or not.
Lastly this is not about race people, they are pushing the one world currency that will lead to controlling people. These elite are all races do not be baited easily , we can find other means of co- existing and fixing our country โค
