Pentagon: Venezuelan fighter jets fly near US Navy vessels in ‘highly provocative’ move | DW News

The Pentagon says two Venezuelan F-16 fighter jets flew near a US Navy vessel in international waters Thursday in what they call a ‘highly provocative’ move. This marks a new escalation in the two countries’ standoff over Washington’s Caribbean deployment. During a trip to neighboring Ecuador on Thursday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio underlined the US’s increasingly aggressive stance towards Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

In Caracas, Venezualan President Nicolas Maduro says ‘imperialism is launching a new attack’ aimed at regime change. He insists his country will stand firm — but will he be relying on China for help?

The US deployment in the Caribbean has dramatically escalated tensions with Venezuela, whose president Nicolas Maduro has vowed to protect his country’s sovereignty against what he calls ‘US imperial aggression’. But Caracas is increasingly dependent on China when it comes to facing off against the US.

  1. 🎉🎉yes i know we are treading carefully in todays world, and yes we endeavour to not rock the boat and yes we most certainly are allowing a lot of unpious and unlawful activities go by with out our usual diplomatic and if need be military, interventions, BECAUSE, We have chosen to conduct ourselves, in a manner of slackness, maybe we do this while collecting evidence etc. But either way we do not want to rock the boat in world affairs but if 0there is a state run by miscreants, then, my dear peoples, of youtube, we have to intervene

  2. an unfortunate nation having felons as senators, ministers and president, having imperialist mindset, now acting like petty thieves, robbers and beggars. An unparalleled fall in tha annals of history.

  3. I am glad Marco Rubio really knows and understands the Venezuelan deceptive, criminal subculture that emerged after the political government of Chavez socialism that are becoming the defining culture of the nation. Rubio knows the mindset and cunning behavior of maduro and his goons, so he knows how to deal with them. This is something that that the so called “experts” don’t understand and besides they don’t care about the Venezuelan people that are impoverish and starving. They are so determined to criticize and destroy the US they don’t mind to make Maduro a hero. I would love for them to go to Venezuela and live there for at least 6 months and stop talking nonsense.
