US Judge Questions Trump’s Ghana Deportations of West African Migrants | Firstpost Africa | N18G

The Trump administration has sparked a legal showdown after deporting West African migrants to Ghana, including individuals with U.S. court protections against being returned to their home countries. A federal judge has criticised the move, suggesting it may be a deliberate attempt to bypass legal safeguards designed to protect migrants facing persecution in Nigeria and Gambia. One of the deportees, a bisexual man from Gambia, was sent onward from Ghana despite the protections. Lawyers for the remaining migrants have raised urgent concerns about their safety, while Ghana’s public reaction remains divided between solidarity and economic apprehension.

  1. The tRump regime is sending immigrants to countries they know will turn their lives into a living hell the most, if not certain death. Why would they do this? They're sick twisted vile excuses for humans who do it for their sick perverse entertainment. F donald tRump

  2. We Africans should be smart listening to some so called pan Africanist online .. some are quick to call out other nation ,but when their own country is caught up with scandalous acts they quickly trying to force their own narratives on us.. We aren't fooools ,this damaged control can't work on everyone,Just enjoy the benefits your Ghana gov got from this deal with the Americans .. Nigeria gov was contacted to receive deportees from other countries, the Nigerian gov replied and told the America gov that they can only receive their own citizens as deportees, the pressured the Nigerian gov ,but they stand on their ground .. Telling us that Ghana receive those deportees from America because of pan Africanist narrative other than national benefits is rubbbishh, pretentious, hypocrisy… You telling us that Ghana receive Nigerian ,Gambia deportees to be sent to Nigeria ,Gambia from Accra without personal beneficial agreement with America … If you think the Nigerian gov refused to accept their own citizens from the US ,why do you think they will accept the from Ghanaian authority.. Nigerian gov have no issues receiving their citizens ,they only said the won't accept other nationals to be deported to Nigeria

  3. Those deportees were accent Ghana because they were Nigerians using ghanaian passport and ID so the government wants to hide it from ghanaians so not to find out the fraudulent axt by some officials so he acted like he is helping west Africans.

  4. African countries open your eyes those men might not be a deport! They might be spy spy spy from Ghana to Togo tooooooooo??????? Remember it is easy to recruit someone who looks like you to betray. Be wise
