The ANC is over: Prince Mashele’s bold vision for SA’s future starts now – BNIC#2

At BNIC#2 in Hermanus, author and political commentator Prince Mashele delivered a hard-hitting keynote declaring the ANC’s era of dominance over. He argued the party is in its final, chaotic stage—marked by individual looting rather than governance—and predicted at least 15 years of unstable coalition governments. Yet, Mashele was optimistic: South Africa, he said, is small enough to turn around quickly with the right formula—credible leadership, tackling crime, fixing public education, investing in infrastructure, and fostering unity across race. He urged elites from all communities to begin honest dialogue, warning that without action, South Africa risks remaining a “gangster paradise.”

  1. There is no intellectual regardless of race, that has a back bone that will ever side with the ANC on anything because the core of that party is not about creating an equal society but like any other mafia is to keep themselves fed for as long as possible. A society like South Africa post Apartheid required intensive dialogue and efforts aligned at creating a new society taking into consideration each individuals background and enable everyone to participate.

  2. Thanks Prince as much as I don’t agree with neutralism centred politics…I believe a person like you may have a role but I agree that the meritocratic approach may deliver but other class structures need a slate of representation the misconception that the broad middle holds all the answers when they are ignorant of the class struggle of the lower…this needs broad mixed representation…the have nots can see better than those above…

  3. 'They were wearing pajamas during the day' – classic. I feel like that was just their traditional attire? Prince has a good take but remember SA has no lack of intellectuals and analysts churning out armchair commentaries. What it lacks is pragmatic and honest implementers.

  4. En pleno siglo XXI que haya Reyes y Príncipes es una anomalía democrática. Los líderes los eligen los ciudadanos y sino sirven les retiran la confianza. Un jefatura con derecho hereditario sin ser elegido es sinónimo de dictadura

  5. The Court cases are coming and then the these looters houses, fancy cars, big bank accounts and assets will be confiscated and brought back into the Municipal and Prov Accounts. The guilty will be scrubbing toilets, making gardens and bake bread wearing orange jumpsuits

  6. The Bible says that the evil one comes ONLY to steal, kill and destroy. When you see killing, stealing and destruction, know that it is demons coming through people. Murderers, thieves and destroyers need to be delivered from evil and receive the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.
