Theresa Black, age 68, of Erie, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born in Jamestown, NY on November 16, 1956, daughter of the late Herman and Jenny Hilyer.

Theresa enjoyed playing bingo, visits to the casino, but above all else, she loved her family and friends. She was a great cook and loved cooking for everyone she could. Theresa especially treasured time with her grandsons. They were her heart and soul.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Oster (Charles); four brothers: James (Christine), John, Buck (Sharon), and Mark (Stephanie) Hilyer, who endearingly called her “Sis”. Further survivors are her three grandsons: Justin Morrison (Megan), Nicholas Oster, and Isaac Oster; as well as nieces and nephews. Theresa was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Black, and one brother, Herman Hilyer.

The family would like to thank her aides, Shannon and Jen, her dear family, David and Rhonda Sharie, and Julie Hilyer, and her friends, Shirley and Cindy and all the wonderful residents at Grandview Manor for the wonderful support given to Theresa.
