On 25 October, citizens of Côte d’Ivoire will vote in a presidential election that could determine whether the current stability will endure or if old divisions will take centre stage. Something needs to change because the cocoa farmers struggle even though they are source of Belgian chocolate, Swiss chocolate, and French chocolate. The global chocolate industry was valued at approximately $123 to $145 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to between $172 and $255 billion by 2030-2034.
