  1. t2 is very common in UAE,, waarabu wamechizi na hii gari manze. It has made Nissan patrol makers to think alternatives juu sales now are going down on their side and before it was them dominating the market

  2. Chinese car technology is leading the world. They are driving western companies bankrupt because their technology is so advanced and the quality is comparable to German automakers like Porsche, XIAOMI is kicking ass. Kenya should be honored but they should invest in building nuclear power plants to power industry with clean energy and cut cost.

  3. Kenya has its brands. And Kenyan vehicle owners have their budget for cars. 7.8 M will get you a known model like a Prado, will risking with a fairly new model for the same be worth it? 7.8m is a fortune by Kenyan standards

  4. 🚫 Don’t Be Misled — Car Assembly Is Not Local Manufacturing!

Assembling and importing are not the same thing, my people — don’t get scammed.

These so-called “assemblers” import cars in parts, not to produce anything in Kenya, but to enjoy tax breaks and build monopolies for a few rich individuals. They don’t create real industries — they just repackage imports and sell them at inflated prices.

Worse still, they pay most taxes after the car is sold — from your pocket. So, in the end, it’s you, the buyer, funding their privilege.

On the other hand, used car importers bring in complete vehicles, pay all taxes upfront, and create real jobs. From showroom workers, drivers, and mechanics to brokers and clearing agents — thousands of Kenyans benefit directly and indirectly.

Let’s be honest — car assembly in Kenya has become a scam dressed up as “industrial growth.” It doesn’t empower the people; it empowers the powerful.

If we truly want progress, let’s support fair trade, real job creation, and small business growth — not monopoly schemes for a few.

  5. I think its high time we start defining what cheap and affordable means. 7MILLION is not affordable nor cheap considering the tax regime that price will shot up whether you like it or not, I had rather spend that 7 million on a Landcruiser or a Prado

  6. There are hundreds of amazing Chinese car brands, I’m from Russia and they flooded our markets after western sanctions and closure of European/japanese delerships. Hopefully in Kenya it will be the same and Chinese brands will move in here. Chinese cars are better than Japanese and German cars. But Kenya’s tax is crazily high. It doubles or triple or even quadruples the normal price of the car u buy. In South Africa the prices for the same vehicles u buy in Kenya are more than 2 times cheaper.
