US set to begin major military exercises off the coast of Venezuela

The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group has entered the Caribbean Sea, according to the US Navy, putting the world’s most advanced carrier at the center of deepening tensions in the region. The group is joining US forces already in the Caribbean as part of the Trump administration’s effort to “defeat and dismantle criminal networks,” the Navy said in a news release.

CNN senior reporter Betsy Klein reports from West Palm Beach, Florida, and Fredricka Whitfield speaks with CNN global affairs analyst Kimberly Dozier. #cnn #News

  1. The goal of USA is to steal Venezuelas resources, they have been causing chaos around the world with lies of bringing democracy, now the new lie is fighting drug dealers then topling a sovereign nations government. The world woke up and can see the lies of USA.

  2. America can take their christian fears of their conjured devils they impose on others and shove them up their christian asses, the earth community has had enough. Nature will destroy America.

  3. The U.S always coming up with some excuse to take over a country. I mean why didn't America try China or Russia? Why try pick on a country with out nukes. I mean if PM of Venezuela is trafficking drugs then I am with the U.S to stop them but they need solid proof

  4. For those who want some context about the dictatorship regime in Venezuela, here is the short history: In 1992, Hugo Chávez attempted a coup d’état against President Carlos Andrés Pérez. He was quickly arrested and imprisoned while awaiting trial. Later on, President Rafael Caldera — a right-wing leader — pardoned him illegally and helped fund his political rise, using conservative influence and media support to shape public opinion in his favor.

As a result, Chávez won the 1998 presidential election by a wide margin, and Venezuela began the authoritarian regime that has continued ever since.

In short, Venezuela’s right-wing establishment — led by Rafael Caldera and supported by those who voted for Chávez — played a central role in creating one of the worst dictatorships in Latin American history.

  5. CNN doing, what they do best, lie to CR@CK@$, and they all bealive it😂😂😂😂. We LATIN AMERICA know, USA aonly wants VENEZUELA oil and nothing else, just like what they did to IRAK. But I hope VENZUELA gets help from the RUSSIA. LONG LIVE RUSSIA!!😊

  6. Mr.Trump is only putting the entire Caribbean in danger and not just Venezuela, should other nation's leaders is to get involved. This drug trafficking talk is just a scam to carry out Trumps real intentions, with out considering neighbouring nations, wether we want to believe it or not.

  7. This campain begins to more and more remind me his North Korea campain in his first term! Remember, how he sent armada and it charged and charged across the ocean on TV every evening for a week. Scary stuff! But then armada mysteriously disappeared. Probably couldn't find so small country and gave up? No clarification followed.
So it looks like this one will be as glorious! We are all impressed! Time to change news and forget about it!
