South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stated, ‘We have received notice from the United States, a notice which we are still in discussions with them over, about a change of mind, about participating in one shape or form or other in the summit’. The White House has denied any change to its decision to boycott the meeting. The event marks the fourth consecutive G20 summit to be held in a Global South nation.
