May their beautiful souls rest in peace 😢
The owner must be charged as well
For as long as our railways arent working and with the anc in power…send your kids into this world at your own risk. Pray all you want …
How many kids were in the taxi? Did any of the kids survive?
Whoever employed him must be in court also 😡
I think the owner of the transport should be charged as well if he didn't check if the if his driver had all the requirements like he didn't check if his driver license was correct or not nd after charge the driver
I read everyone's comments here and it's so sad how misinformed most readers are. Yes, the driver allegedly committed a crime, yes I say allegedly, because I did not witness or have the facts of the incident. Though it's so sad and my heart goes out to everyone who was part of these children's life's.
The saddest part and I hope the judje who will preside in this case, must take in consideration that the once efficient law inforcement that use to patrol our roads 24/7 and made sure we were law abiding drivers, are no more. We as road users don't fear law enforcement, because a bribe will settle our infringements or lawless behaviour on the roads.
But we are quickly to point finger to the driver, but we remain silent that law enforcement agencies don't do their work. Without proper law enforcement our roads will continue to be a death trap.
Tomorrow it might be you.
A deeper investigation must be done in this occurrence and lots of people should be held accountable.
The owner of the taxi should also be charged
But why are we blaming the vehicle owner?? I know drivers intentionally overload their cars without the knowledge of owners, then pocket the extra money for themselves. The least punishment the owner should get is neglecting to check their drivers paperwork, then a heavy fine and banning them forever from owning transport vehicles. Driver must go to jail klaar!
They must jailed him
Yeah nooh lannete letsatsi la bati ga le tsebiwi😢😢my deepest condolences to the families of the young one's lwena driver just stay strong shame
This is beyond devastating
He is NOT a scholar transport driver, he is a taxi driver!
Stop trying to muddy the waters!
The taxi industry needs to accept responsibility AND the government for not controlling the taxi industry.

Akaboshwe nomcashi wakhe umcasha kanjani umuntu ongana lincens okusho ukuthi akacabangelanga impilo labantu uzicabangele yena nemali kuphela
The system is corrupt by allowing the taxi industry to abuse the roads. This is only one incident out of hundreds hapening daily on our roads. The SA Judicial System WILL NEVER EVER prosecute any taxi owner, they to corrupt.
The government must provide proper school busses to transport pupils to school and back….. period!!!
90% of taxi drivers drive like idiots. The rush for non taxable money. The taxi industry should pay for this lawsuit. Not the taxpayers. Taxi bosses does not pay tax
Death penalty ❤
Bring back the DEATH SENTENCE
he going to jail for a month then they bail him out and he lives in another province for the rest of his life
Punish the driver in such a hard manner that would make other drivers think. Very sad about the kids 1 is too many
The death of these children is a direct result of the a n c government they are to blame the police do not about the moving violations on the road .and the law courts who are completely soft on perpetrators the government allows a non regulated taxi industry they are thugs . Self serving crooks
i want him to receive life sentence for each child(14 in total). The children did not deserve this.
Well deserved, if he comes out the community will be waiting
Yoo.!! Only 22 years old, he's too young for his fate.
As we lament over the lives of those kids, I'm also thinking of this young man; he has the weight of the whole country, 14 lost lives, grieving parents, taxi industry, wrath of the law and the larger communities on his shoulders. That is an equivalent of a death sentence.
May God's grace and mercy cover him, he is in quite a predicament himself.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🇿🇦
This should never be allowed 22 years of age is too young to be transporting passengers
Kenyans deal with the same government incompetence on a daily basis. Transportation cannot be privatized in Africa. The drivers are often uneducated buffoons who have no respect for their passengers. How can the roads be our biggest hazards? Our informal sectors with all their inane norms need to be regulated.
This is so heartbreaking poor children 😢 may they're soul Rest In Peace..
More worried about whether it is legitimate to post this on social media. Typical of government and MSM who wants to control the narrative. Any private person who has any form of video footage of crimes that have occurred are the owners of such video and have the right to put it on social media if they so chose. Only in communist countries they disallow that or is this government and MSM saying that we are in a communist state.
22 years old whoever was his employer must be charged for this 😢
What about the OWNER of that TAXI? Why is the owner not in court for employing an individual that cleary was NOT FIT FOR THE JOB?
Get that TAXI owner in court and let him/her also face the rathe of their own decisions. The OWNER is ALSO RESPONSIBLE for employing an UNPERMITTED driver, marking them jointly liable for the loss of lives.
Cure the cancer at the source, at the root of the illness if there is to be any justice and lasting discipline in this otherwise undisciplined industry.
The owner of the taxi should be charged
Is this the truck driver or the the taxi driver?
This is so sad
So said .
I am begging parents to refuse with their children to these overloaded vehicles and these broken Transport vehicles .
I pray fr children family's and the driver and his family's
Its not the driver, its a cover up, doesnt even look 22
Fantastic. Now hold the government accountable for FAILING OUR CHILDREN. Where’s the school busses to transport learners safely? Which official stole that money? This government (ALL OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES) Should stand trial for genocide, endangering everyday people’s kids while their spawn is transported in ultimate luxury. Sies.
Nothing will change as on Monday it'll be business as usual with minibuses causing mayhem on the roads with the toxic and corrupt and dysfunctional traffic department doing zero to enforce the law
