‘When I arrived, they were killing my fourth son’ – BBC Africa

57-year-old Yameogo Aminata has told the BBC how armed insurgents overran her village in central Burkina Faso in 2022 while she was away.

The militants seized cattle and land and killed several residents, including her four sons, aged between 25 and 32.

More than 10,000 people have been killed in Burkina Faso’s insurgency, which has spread to Mali and Niger, with the UN describing the wider Sahel as the “epicentre” of global jihadist violence.

  1. Who did the killings? Islamic jihadists, just like they did in Nigeria. I just do not understand how any human being will k*ll another especially in the name of God.
    Very very sad.

  2. If western countries greed never fueled the creation of the terror gangs to destabilize the countries, there would be no pain and suffering of the African people. The French together, European nations and Israel and United States continues to fund shitty organizations, providing arms to help. Keep this continent unstable and dangerous for its citizens to live

  3. So sorry ma'am. How can one recover from this. So heartbreaking. I pray for you, may God heal & replenish you in immeasurable ways.. The same thing is happening mainly in the northern part of Nigeria.
