Meloni’s plan aims to convert African debt into long-term investment projects, introduce loan suspension clauses for climate-hit countries, and free up fiscal space to support populations and rebuild essential infrastructure.

This initiative is part of Italy’s broader Mattei Plan, focused on fostering sustainable cooperation in energy, agriculture, and infrastructure across Africa.

  1. The world has helped Africa my entire life. South Africa is a prime example of what happens when white nations step away and just send money. Corruption! They wasted what they inherited and did nothing to maintain infrastructures. Cooperation involves the people and governments of Africa putting out effort, not just taking money. A nation will never change if they stand in a 3rd world country and envy the world, if they don’t pull themselves up by their bootstraps and decide themselves to change.

  2. They can not even in this day and age give you a clear 1080 quality. Please join with USA and we will demand they pay attention to you respect you in any coverage. They just disrespected USA to our face. That was a mistake. We see and we remmember.

  3. Meloni needs to ask other European leaders to join Italy to PROTECT vulnerable African countries from those who take advantage of their national resources. They mine and take – pay little to nothing to Africans who work 12 hour days. When these companies leave – they make no effort to give back in education or health projects. In a word – rape. They take what is not theirs, they pay little and leave. This is so unjust. These African nations need to be protected from the leading countries of the world who do this. Repeatedly.

  4. She is an awesome leader for Italy. But sadly Africa is an absolute mess. Words will not help Africa. Africans won’t help Africa either. Foreigners can’t help Africa either. Africa will continue to be a disaster for the next several hundred years.

  5. Sounds nice but do you think the World bank will forgive the debt? And do you think the leaders in the countries in Africa will all of a sudden start acting ethically and in the best interest of their people. I think not! Africa has the most unrealized natural resources of any continent, but the Africans are too busy killing each other and lining their pockets with international aid. Africa is a basket case just like Haiti, it is not in their DNA to be self-sufficient and prosperous.

  6. Great idea. Plus… it must include hard and fast terms that they keep their populations within their own borders. making Africa more profitable and able to sustain and support their own populations will facilitate this.
