Laila Edwards’ family feels a sense of pride during her historic Olympic debut



Laila Edwards has made headlines for being the first Black woman to play ice hockey for Team USA at the Olympics and her quick come-up in the sport.

Ten family members, including her grandmother and four friends, made the trip from the U.S. to Italy for her Olympic debut, emphasizing her impact on the Black community in her Ohio hometown and beyond.

Team USA is set to face Canada on Thursday for the final game.
