Ibrahim Traore Proves Experts Wrong With Stunning National Turnaround

Ibrahim Traoré is building airports, dams, gold refineries, and mega-projects in Burkina Faso while fighting an active war — and nobody is asking why. In this episode of The Strategic Lens, we break down exactly how Traoré’s leadership strategy is delivering more results in three years than most African presidents delivered in twenty, what his 2026 sovereignty roadmap really means for Africa, and why the democracy versus performance debate is the most important conversation on the continent right now.We walk through every major mega-project — the Donsin International Airport, the national gold refinery, the Ziga II dam, solar energy projects, agro-processing factories, and Burkina Faso’s new national bank — and explain in plain language what each one solves, who benefits, and why a country at war is building faster than countries at peace with far more resources. We also go into the January 2026 foiled coup attempt against Traoré, the foreign interference allegations, the AES Alliance with Mali and Niger, and what the Sahel realignment means for France, Russia, and the future of West African geopolitics. Then we ask the question that young Africans from Lagos to Nairobi are already asking out loud — if Burkina Faso can do this with war, sanctions, and almost no resources, what exactly is everybody else’s excuse? This is not a celebration. It is a serious geopolitical analysis of a leadership model that Africa has not seen since Sankara and Gaddafi — and what it reveals about the system the continent might actually need.

  1. I pray for Capt Ibrahim Traore and the people of Burkina Faso. Just like the CIA murders leaders and corrupts and topples governments all over the world who are seen as a possible threat or a possible competitive economy, Burkina Faso will be a target for western aggression. As history and current events show, America massacres and undermines its own citizens. Only the wealthy matter.

  2. Traore THINKS + HE IS EDUCATED, HAS WORKED FOR THE OCCUPIERS AND KNOW HOW THEY THINK, BUT HE ALSO KNOWS HIS OWN PEOPLE, LIVED THEIR STRUGGLES AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST HE'S NOT CORRUPTED. THAT COMBINED WITH JOINING WITH OTHER COUNTRIES THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME OCCUPIERS. THOSE 3 ARE ALL MILITARY MEN WITH COMBAT EXPERIENCES. THEY HAVE MORALS AND INTEGRETIE. AND ALL HAVE THROWN OUT FRANCE. AND HE IS BEING TRANSPARENT ABOUT THE PROBLEMS. I ADMIRE HIM FOR BEING HIM.

  3. In America we have a dictator, corruption, religious fundamentalism, state sponsored terrorism, but no progress, no hope, no leadership, no one fighting for the people (from a position of power). I've been very lucky, but I still live close enough to poverty, that my heart breaks for my countrymen constantly as we double down on the abuses of the past and add new indignities everyday. I know there are probably Berkina Bay who would gladly trade places with me, but I draw a lot of hope from the direction Traore is leading. Even though my country might be eating itself, that at least somewhere on Earth my brother's and sister's will be looking forward to tomorrow and someday living the birthright of every human being. I'm praying for his continued success, and the long over due time of self-determination and prosperity for Africa! May more people follow his lead!

  4. I preface this by saying that i am french for it is central to what i'll say.

We learned about colonisation and what France did to Africa in school but for one it was not central to school cursus or not enough to really understand how f ed up it was.

But the most important thing lacking is that we were taught it WAS, learning about facts of the 60s without being given the opportunity to question what we were doing at the very moment. (By we i mean total and cie, cfa, politic interference, obvious intelligence actions i mean the rainbow warrior is not an isolated incident rather the tip of the iceberg etc etc).

I went to learn more about it all after my baccalauréat but still i had this feeling or rather want for objectivity that made me think of how those infos could be biased.

All that to say that I love hearing of this kind of stuff. I also love having insights from people i'd never have heard if i didn’t want to learn more of it all.

  5. Dear Africans: Anyone can build anything but the continent's infrastructural problems lies with MAINTENANCE. Your annual budget has to include maintenance costs and it can NOT be pocketed because things still works for now…

  6. Remove poverty and you automatically solve crime, social unrest and the seeds of rebellion. There is massive amounts of research showing this. He is just doing what is proven to work.
Good for him. Sadly no dictator keeps being good people through their life, let’ hope he creates democratic institutions as part of solving poverty, or eles the poverty will soon return.
Edit: Ask WHO will OWN the factories, the infrastructure? Will money flow to the top while people still are not catching up to a decent standard of living, or will it be distributed for economic equality?
Democratic institutions are necessary to prevent corruption and abuse of power. They need to exist on every level of organisation; local, regional, and national. In the public and private sector.

  7. He is the African proof that our governments and people have no excuse. We can do more with less even in war time if we set out mind to true liberation and Africa's developpement.
Wishing all the success to the Burkinabè people.
Africa will rise by God's will ❤

  8. Really good, informative video. You ask questions, good questions – and let the viewer fill in the answers. Valuable and useful. Subscribed. I will be watching more

  9. Russia a new friend ? No. Russia is just another form of France, in another shell. You do not need "friends" like Russia, China, or the US. Do your own thing.
And you do not need nuclear power plants. What about the nuclear waste ? You have the sun, you have wind, and you have water, that is energy enough – without waste.

  10. Dutch guy here; this is interesting. The people here see an immigrant problem. This is exactly part of the way the system works. People should not want to leave their country en masse(of course there is the adventurous person who definitely should do so) . I see the problem the same system as Traoré recognizes as the enemy. Cheers✌️

  11. We ALL need an Ibrahim Traoré in Africa. We all have the minerals, but our people are poor. It has to end. Let the people have dignity and wealth instead of giving it to thieving countries who steal the wealth and exploit the citizens…especially the children.

  12. Do you think to have trust in Russia is a good idea ? Russia is the best exemple for a country where the leadership only works for itself and not for the people. And when you go in the streets with a white paper to protest against the war, you go in prison. Russia is suppression, brutality. Do you know its behavior in Congo or in Mali ?
I would have liked to know more about the financement from China and Russia. It is not gratuit.

  13. Dictatorship always gets things done.

At first, than the corruption and self entitlement leaks through.

Who is paying and who gets the money?
    How are the deals working?
    Who will benefit long term?
No one word answers. Do a real deep dive, real journalism.

  14. 1:11 He's putting the money where it's SUPPOSED to go, and not in his bank account. *He did more in 3yrs than others have done in 20…nuf said. 🤔 There are tradeoffs for most things in life. Well done, Creator.🙏🏾

  15. What he does it probably going to work in short term but in the long run not that sure. Remind me of poland after war , first few years government made ambitions plans and projects that were completed 100% with second round it all went south

  16. so once again an african leader needed to go outside of africa for help. there are atleast 2 african countries with nuclear power. and it is not the only way to get power. BTW god and devil are still family.

  17. Capitalism is for few not the masses. If he had oil the west would have got rid of him by now. But you know they are watching and if he is successful they will come for him. I hope he succeeds. 🙏

  18. TRAORE learned from other’s mistakes , good or bad . Let me tell you , when I was younger my grandma told me baby , when you see a lots of white peoples in one place that’s were the money is because they love money!! She was 97 when she passed in 2018 and we have whites in our family !!!NOTHING BEATS A FAILURE BUT A TRY!! KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND PEOPLE SHALOM
