Boots on the ground in Westbury, Johannesburg

Soldiers have now arrived in Westbury in Johanesburg. They were in Eldorado Park and Riverlea earlier.

This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced during his State of the Nation Address last month that the military will be deployed in areas riddled by gang violence and illegal mining activities, to support the police.

  1. They can eradicate crime when u convert them into TRT n B Cele 1ns showed us n Ranko knows this. So with this temporary deployment he is campaigning for the local elections. He will fool those hu r blind to politics of SA.

  2. Out army are not fit FOR this job REGARDING the GANGSTERS,,,,they are not trained well FOR this ,,,just waisting money and time making a useless show ,wake up train the police well and g9vern the country

  3. Ten points for finding a temporary solution. The government needs to advise South Africans how they plan to implement a permanent solution. If they can't, then this just becomes another election campaign to show they doing something.

  4. At least it gives them something to do except laying the whole day in the bungalows.
    But…………..
Just a matter of time before a few soldiers are robbed of their R4 rifles.
