Democracy is bad until leader like museven come to power
The West pointed at every nation in the world, said "look, people can't criticize the rulers freely enough, the press is restricted" and used this excuse to barge in, commit unthinkable horrors, massacre their people, steal their goods, rid them of their sovereignty and turn them into a "modern democracy" with a nice puppet leader with "made in America" under his shoe. The reason they treated the lack of democracy as the absolute, most serious, most horrendous problem a state can possibly have was because most of the eastern, third world, religiously ruled etc. countries that they wanted to invade were generally didn't have and idea of democracy regime wise, culturally, historically etc. So they portrayed a non democratic regime as "absolute dark, middle age hell with no future for its people" to the world and used this excuse to point the light away from their unthinkable war crimes and genocides and plundering and the likes, being both rooted in their history and their current strategy. Here, I believe Ibrahim Traore may be basically trying to say "I am not intending to listen to free press speeches from the guys who have been robbing our entire continent for the last few centuries, right now my focus is on making them stop robbing us."
