“Democracy kills,” says Burkina Faso’s ruling junta leader Ibrahim Traore during an interview broadcast on national television. Traore told young Africans that the concept of democracy is “false” and urged them to embrace a “revolutionary spirit” instead. His remarks come as the military-led government continues to reshape the country’s political direction.

  1. We just seen the lecturers of Human Right bombing school girls in Iran and when
the survivals were being rescued they bombed again to finish they all.
A band of war criminal coming to Africa to lecture us !
Shame on you ! no more we say NO !

  2. Around 1960, when African colonies gained independence, the standard of living there was about three times lower than in Europe. Today, that's a huge gap. You have the internet, you can check it yourself, and artificial intelligence can even do it for you, searching for and or calculating economic results from then and now.

  3. Even though I agree with Traore but he should a suitable system of power transfer. So he doesn't over stay and become a problem himself. The beautiful of leadership in government is that it can change hands with time.

  4. Traoré is a dictator. Democracy might not be perfect, but it's the best system we have. It breaks my heart to see African youngsters worshiping this guy …

  5. APT, I have a problem with your headline to this video interview. Why are you trying to court hatred for the Burkina Faso Leader by claiming he is completely against democracy, when in actual fact, he is concerned about how the West being champions of Democracy have impoverished Africa while pretending to promote human rights. Stop being hypocrites!!!!

  6. What should I believe? I've been trying to follow what's happening in Burkina Faso. It has given me hope for a better future in the country. Respect the right of all people to find their own path to justice and freedom. As long as oppression and injustice are not the goal, respect each people's own plan.

  7. You cannot get moral, intelligent, visionary, capable, civil minded and empathetic leaders when the majority of the populace is immoral and politically and economically dumb. This is why democracy fails.
