A Statement of Vision: The Case for a United Countries of Africa (UCA)
As a member of the African Diaspora, I contend that Africa no longer requires external dependency on the West. While a pivot toward total self-reliance may involve short-term economic adjustments, the long-term rewards of independence are indisputable. Africa remains the wealthiest continent on Earth in terms of natural resources and human capital; by decoupling from exploitative systems and fostering internal growth, we will shift the global conversation from African "billionaires" to African "trillionaires" within the next thirty years.
If we unify to prioritize the African economy, the continent is positioned to become the world’s next preeminent industrial and financial powerhouse—the next "China." Currently, however, the primary obstacle is a lack of cohesive leadership. We suffer from "too many cooks in the kitchen"—heads of state with shortsighted agendas who frequently trade trillions in long-term wealth for mere pennies in immediate gains. They consistently prioritize short-term liquidity over sustainable prosperity, effectively trading our future for a pittance.
Pride often precedes a fall, and it is time for leadership that lacks vision to either step aside or be moved aside. The era of fragmented governance must end to make way for the United Countries of Africa (UCA). We must act in the best interest of the continent's collective future to ensure our rightful place at the forefront of the global economy. Then we all can lift our heads high and say, "I am an African"

What shocks me most is to see how fast the AES gets policies put in place after 2-3 years and did not realize ECOWAS has been around for years and is still waiting for permission from France.
