Shaya Lunger, who is also known as Yona Lunger, was arrested Monday in North Miami Beach on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct on a minor under 16 and lewd and lascivious conduct on a minor between the ages of 12 and 16.
He appeared in bond court Tuesday where he was ordered held on a $10,000 bond.

According to an arrest warrant, a now-19-year-old woman who lives in Israel recently came forward to detectives in Miami-Dade County after learning about Lunger’s arrest last month.
The warrant states that the victim claims Lunger, now 54, placed his hands on her breasts over her clothing for about one minute when she was visiting her family in South Florida in May 2021 when she was 14.
The victim claimed that prior to the alleged sexual assault, Lunger arrived at her family’s home, which was used as a short-term rental, and offered to restock items for it.
According to the warrant, Lunger then had the victim go to Publix with him where he held her hand.
While driving back to her family’s home, he made inappropriate comments toward the teen, asking her if she “recalled all the places he loved and missed her,” the warrant stated.
Detectives said he then placed his hands on the victim’s breasts over her clothing and then tried to kiss her on her lips.
The victim said she froze when she arrived at her family’s home and then disclosed the incident to her mother.
Lunger was previously arrested on March 25 on a charge of lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under 16 after a 15-year-old girl claimed that he entered her bedroom in northeast Miami-Dade, closed the door and told her to “put away her sexy things,” referring to her breast area.
Deputies said Lunger then hugged the victim and kissed her multiple times.
According to an arrest report, after kissing the teen near her lips, Lunger asked the girl to kiss him back and then left her room.
Deputies said he had also expressed a desire for the victim to turn 18 during multiple interactions with her.
While the arrest report and warrant do not list Lunger’s occupation, records show a Shaya Y. Lunger is the registered agent of the Chesed of South Florida nonprofit.
After his initial arrest, Bruce Lehr, Lunger’s attorney, said in a statement to Local 10 News, “My client looks forward to the true facts coming out. In reality, this is a prime example of no good deed goes unpunished.”
Lehr went on to provide an additional statement to Local 10 News’ Liane Morejon over the phone.
“I find it curious that based upon the behavior alleged, that there were charges of lewd and lascivious. I find it even more curious that at a bond hearing, there would be two Miami-Dade Special Victims Unit detectives spending their morning. There seems to be something more behind these arrests.”
As of Tuesday morning, Lunger remained held at the Metrowest Detention Center.
Detectives are asking anyone who was victimized by Lunger to contact the MDSO Special Victims Bureau at 305-715-3300. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
