BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Councilwoman Zeneta Everhart hosted her Buffalo Black Caucus event this weekend to continue to uplift the Black community in the Queen City.
The annual event was founded in the wake of the Tops mass shooting and aims to strengthen the Black community through wealth-building seminars, holistic growth and offering tools to put the community in a place to succeed. The event featured several panel discussions and workshops led by local leaders and public officials.
“This is an opportunity for us to collaborate, for us to communicate, and for us to work together to ensure that we are always thriving and reminding the rest of the world that Buffalo is not tragedy,” Councilmember Leah Halton-Pope said. “We are strength, and Black Buffalo is not going anywhere.”
“This event is centered around issues that impact Black and brown communities across our city, across the nation, quite frankly,” Everhart said.
This is the fourth year of the event, and leaders plan to carry it on for years to come.
