French President Emmanuel Macron interrupted a youth-focused session at the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi after growing noise inside the venue made it difficult for speakers to be heard.
During the “Africa Forward: Creation in Motion” discussion, Macron criticized attendees for talking during the event, calling it a “total lack of respect” and asking those holding side conversations to leave the hall or continue discussions elsewhere.
The summit has brought together African leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and business executives as France seeks to strengthen ties across the continent amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in Africa.
