The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is now piloting a new modular approach to the CSEC exam, aimed at improving performance and giving students more flexibility.

You only pass the exam if you pass all three modules. However long that takes you. There are also issues such as are you going to pay to sit each module?

the curriculum and assessment layout is not the issue there. there are underlying issues which the system will never address such as lack of access to proper education. a lot of times extreme poverty also prevents students from succeeding in school, as well as the normalization of joining gangs. (not saying the system is normalizing it, but when children hear music and their peers glamorizing the 6 7 life, it becomes normal to them and they abandon academics) changing the format or as i would say "dumbing it down" does not improve student intellectualism. it is a pretend way of acting like they are doing better when in reality the exam is just being made easier

So how cxc plan on grading the students this year? That means majority fail. Why not give ALL student a Grade 3. Cxc give the students an ai maths exam but the students cannot used an ai SBA 😢
