ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — LEAF Global Arts has announced the cancellation of its fall Lake Eden Arts festival, otherwise known as the LEAF Festival.
According to a news release, LEAF Global Arts will be postponing its festival until 2027.
LEAF GLOBAL ARTS ANNOUNCES 2026 KEY EVENTS
“For months, we explored possible paths forward, carefully evaluating what would be required to responsibly produce a Festival that our community deserves. We ultimately concluded that postponing until Fall 2027 would be most sustainable for LEAF’s long-term health, ensuring the longevity of the organization and the community that surrounds it,” the release said.
LEAF Global Arts said that the decision comes after the group evaluated what would be required of it to hold the festival and decided that postponing it would be the most suitable option for the group’s long-term health as it recovers from Helene.
The organization said that the impacts of canceling the 2024 festival due to Helene, reductions in arts education funding, and COVID-19 have encouraged the organization to strengthen its foundation.
