South African police are investigating two separate murder cases following violent anti-immigration protests that erupted in KwaNonqaba and Asla Park, Mossel Bay, in the Western Cape.

According to family members, Nhlamulo was allegedly targeted because he was a Tsonga speaker living in a predominantly Xhosa-speaking community.
