A dead black bear was found dumped in Burlington over the weekend and Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or people who are responsible.
EnCon police said the 200-pound male black bear was found dumped on the side of Upson Road on Sunday.
During an assessment of the bear, investigators said it appears there is a wound behind its right front shoulder that is consistent with being shot.
At this point, authorities said they do not believe the incident happened on Upson Road.
EnCon police are now asking for the public’s help to identify whoever may be responsible for the bear’s death.
Anyone with information is asked to contact EnCon Police dispatchers at (860) 424-3333 or by email to Officer Matthew Heath at Matthew.Heath@ct.gov.
