NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Nashville residents and visitors have several opportunities to celebrate Juneteenth and explore Black history, culture and community throughout the summer.

First up, one of the more exciting events is that Nashville SC, in partnership with the Juneteenth615 Freedom Exposition, is hosting a free outdoor watch party on Friday, June 19 for the United States’ World Cup match against Australia.
And those looking to stay active can participate in the Music City Juneteenth Dance/Walk/Run 5K on Friday, June 19, an event that supports local charities while celebrating Freedom Day. Live entertainment is also on deck, with events like Sound as Liberation Sessions at Nashville Jazz Workshop on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20, and local music showcases featuring soul, R&B and jazz artists.
Families looking for educational experiences can visit the Tennessee State Museum, which hosts Juneteenth programming that includes history activities, guided tours and cultural performances, and yearly, the National Museum of African American Music also offers opportunities to explore the impact of Black artists on American music and culture.
From museums and festivals to music, sports and community events, Nashville offers a variety of ways to celebrate Juneteenth and honor Black history throughout the summer.
