Last weekend, DC celebrated Pride Month with an enthusiastic parade and other events that highlighted the history, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQ+ communities. African Americans have played a powerful and often underrecognized role in that Pride story. We talk about how Black voices have helped shape the fight for equality and justice as well as the many unique challenges that remain when it comes to racial and identity-based discrimination, social acceptance and health and welfare.
Guests:
Victoria Kirby York, Director, Public Policy and Programs, The National Black Justice Collective
