Truck crashes into Black River, driver rescued by fire department


The Chester Fire Department rescued a person after a truck crashed into Black River on Saturday.According to the department’s Facebook, mutual aid was requested by the Springfield Fire Department for a car that entered Black River with the driver still inside.The driver was able to escape onto the roof, and crews threw a rescue rope to them. Members of the CFD then entered the river and brought the driver to shore. They were uninjured. It’s unclear how the car ended up in the river.
