The Las Vegas Raiders continued to work on their offensive line depth just three days before the start of the regular season by claiming guard Bryce Cabeldue off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

He was waived Wednesday before the Seahawks’ began the season with a win over the New England Patriots. The Raiders, who have the first waiver claim priority for the next three weeks, snatched up Cabeldue. There is, of course, organizational familiarity with the player. Las Vegas head coach Klint Kubiak was the offensive coordinator in Seattle last year, which took Cabeldue in the sixth round. Of coruse, other Las Vegas assistants such as offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko and offensive line coach Rick Dennison was with Cabeldue in Seattle as well.

To make room for Cabeldue on the 53-man roster, Las Vegas cut fellow guard Atonio Mafi. He should be a candidate for the practice squad if he clears waivers Friday. Clearly, Kubiak and the Raiders’ scouting department view Cabeldue as an depth upgrade from Mafi.

Cabeldue, 25, is a Kansas product .He appeared in eight games with no starts as a rookie for Kubiak and the Seahawks.
