BREAKING: AFRICAN UNION DROPS BOMBSHELL ON SAHEL ALLIANCE

BREAKING: AFRICAN UNION DROPS BOMBSHELL ON SAHEL ALLIANCE

The African Union is meeting in Addis Ababa for its 39th Ordinary Summit — and what’s coming out of this gathering should concern every African paying attention.

At the very moment African leaders are unveiling what they are calling a bold new financial initiative — the Africa Infrastructure Financing Facility (AAMFI) — the AU is also delivering a harsh institutional verdict on the Sahel, accusing the region of “regression,” worsening terrorism, and political instability.

And that contradiction is at the heart of this video.

On one hand, the African Union is condemning the Alliance of Sahel States — Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger — echoing the same talking points long pushed by Western diplomatic circles, framing the Sahel as the epicentre of Africa’s security crisis.

On the other hand, the same institution is rolling out AAMFI, a project being quietly positioned as an African alternative to the IMF — a supposed pathway toward African financial sovereignty, away from IMF dependency, Eurobonds, and Western debt traps.

So which is it?

How can the same organisation that cannot speak honestly about Africa’s security realities claim it is ready to build Africa’s financial future?

In this video, we break down:
– Why the AU singled out the Sahel at this summit
– Why the word “regression” does not match realities on the ground
– How territorial gains in Burkina Faso are being ignored
– Why the AU’s silence on mass civilian deaths in Nigeria and Sudan matters
– Who really funds the African Union — and why that matters
– Why AAMFI risks becoming another phantom project
– And why the Sahel’s break from the old system is shaking the entire architecture

Africa has seen this movie before: grand announcements, historic language, donor-friendly initiatives — and no delivery. Agenda 2063. The African Standby Force. The African Monetary Fund. Big promises, little enforcement.

And now, once again, Africans are being told this time will be different.

This video asks the hard question many refuse to ask:
Does the African Union still speak for Africa — or only for itself?

Watch till the end. This one matters.

  1. The African Union says the Sahel is in “regression” — while rolling out an African IMF-style project it may not even control.

So let me ask you directly:
👉 Does the African Union still speak for Africa — or only for itself and its donors?

    Drop your honest thoughts below:

  2. This reminds me of other Western-sponsored regime-change operations in other countries eg Syria. What is going to happen is the AES leaders will be accused of possessing WMDs eg chemical weapons. Then chemical attacks will be launched on civilians and the blame placed on AES authorities. Whether it will succeed this time remains to be seen

  3. AU leadership is mentally colonised by their colonial masters and they are blind to the Way Africa is heading to aquire sovereignity, real freedom and equality. Africa should be United States of Africa under the leadership of Sahel states because Sahel leaders are very intelligent brave people who understands the world affairs currently

  4. Listen to AU leadership, they are following their colonial masters in blaming Sahel states and their leadership just the way western countries are doing. AU should join the Sahel states because Africa is not going back to the past and this is not negotiable at all. Sahel states leaders are the most intelligent brave people on this planet Earth 🌎

  6. AU is blaming the wrong group as the cause of regression. It seems like the best or at least the better countries are concentrating in the AES region. Too much infighting as well as criticism to the AES is groundless as well as foolish spreading of misinformation will retard Africa’s progress. Instead the African countries should be trying to learn from Mr. Traore of Burkino Faso.

  7. They do not have the interest of the Africa at heart. Adis Ababa is not for Africa but EU/AFRICA. We know the true Africa. Africa is in the blood not in AU. Make dem dey chop money, their own children will also be colonize.

  8. As Ugandan,I urge African Union to take a decisive decision to ryme with united nations security council resolution calling on Rwandà to withdraw troops from Democratic republic of congo, causing untold holocaust, looting minerals worth billions of dollars. Rwandà backed M23 rebels , captured Goma, Bukavu, Uvira. The African Union should condemn the invasion of congo by rogue state of Rwanda.

  9. Only 2 people voted for Kwankwaso. As for AU they don't have choice France Is behind them i Would advice them tò buy same classes like their coloniale.master Macron.
How do you think Africa can unite with this kind in AU?
Africa have not got their indipentence.

  10. If the AU was genuine about Afrikan unity and progress the AES would not exist. Where are the initiatives for Afrikan security? We are depending on foreign boots on the ground. Where are the initiatives for Afrikan food security? We are still dependent on foreigners for food aid. Before we can build a road, we need approval from the west. There is something seriously wrong with this model….The AU have been exposed…Look at the achievements of Burkina Faso in the short time Traore has been leader. Instead of applauding the leaders in the sahel the AU is condemning them. They will be shown to be on the wrong side of history. Over 60 years of OAU and AU what have they got to show for it. If AU is not Pan-African in its thinking and doing it is doomed to failure. If you are not the captain of your own ship, do you know where you are going???…..😮
