CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Dairy Market in Charlottesville hosted the Black Artisan Market Saturday, February 28, to celebrate the last day of Black History Month.
The market featured different vendors selling things from candles to baked goods.
People were also able to visit members of The Jefferson School American Heritage Center to learn about their programs.
The Dairy Market’s general manager Anna Payne says she loves being able to host events like this.
“We get to see the local Black entrepreneurs, give them a chance to showcase their goods and their skills, because doing stuff like this by hand, it takes a lot of time, a lot of patience, and talent,” she said. “I wish I could do that. So that way, it’s giving them a chance to show what they can do.”
The Dairy Market hopes to host similar markets like these going forward.
