A Vision for Sustainable Sovereignty: Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger
1. Moving Beyond Contractor-Driven Development
I believe we must move away from a system where government projects are built primarily for the profit of contractors. Instead, infrastructure must be designed for the long-term benefit of the country and its people. When His Excellency President Ibrahim Traoré purchased machinery to build roads directly, he demonstrated a powerful principle: it is better to teach a nation how to fish than to simply give it a fish.
2. Protecting our Vital Water Resources
In the Sahel, water is life. When we develop dams, rivers, or lakes, the shorelines must be reinforced with stone or durable materials to prevent erosion during the monsoon season. We should look to ancient examples of success, such as the Kallanai Dam in my home state of Tamil Nadu, India. Built nearly 1,900 years ago using only rock and stone, it remains in use today. This proves that with the right vision, infrastructure can last for centuries.
3. Community Responsibility and "Green" Infrastructure
To manage costs and build a sense of ownership, the government should involve the public. When citizens participate in building their own infrastructure, they gain a sense of responsibility to protect it. Beyond engineering, we should initiate community planting of trees like teak, oak, and bamboo along these shores. This not only beautifies the area but creates a future source of "green" building materials for the next generation.
4. Investing in the Human Capital
Inspired by a slogan from my former employer, Chevron, we must "Invest in People." Both the private and government sectors must spend on their employees to improve their careers; this investment always brings multiple returns to the nation over time.
Furthermore, every outstanding student from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger should be funded by the state to travel the world. This travel should not be for leisure, but a mission to explore and adopt best practices that can be implemented at home. Our local engineers and scholars should be the ones leading this transformation, ensuring that every project completed is of the highest quality and truly serves the people.
great president
i personally like to watch channel's vid who do play at least 80 to 100 percent on screen. may others like that too. bcs vids give full entertainment. you already extend vid play area. still right/left blow area could be extended for vid playing area.

Why are you calling him prime minister instead of President Captain Ibrahim Traore?
