MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A Miss Wisconsin 2025 has been crowned!
Willow Newell, a 22-year-old from Racine, became the first Black woman to be honored with this title.
She competed among 29 contestants from around Wisconsin, the organization said.
For the talent phase of the competition, Newell sang “And I’m Telling You” from the musical Dreamgirls. She was named the top scoring vocalist and received the Ryan Guy Memorial Music Scholarship.
Her community service initiative is “Expression Without Inclusion,” which aims to provide an inclusive and accessible opportunity for arts through community connections, resources and storytelling.
Newell has participated in Miss America competitions since 2017 when she competed as a teen.
She will travel to Orlando, Florida in early September to compete for the title of Miss America 2026.
