2) That the AGOA agreement, in terms of which SA gets preferential treatment on the American market, not paying any tariffs to make its products competitive – which without this …. it would not be able to compete with European products- states explicitly that to be eligible for these benefits countries must establish or make continual progress toward establishing a market-based economy, the rule of law, political pluralism, and the right to due process, and respect for property and combat corruption and protect human rights
SA has failed to live up to its commitments to especially political pluralism, respect for human rights and corruption (SA ranks 82 out of 180 countries on the Corruption scale Index and their annual report shows it has become more corrupt under the presidency of President Ramaphosa) also becoming the murder capital of the world
So why the outrage if SA does not comply for Agoa aid, due to its track record of corruption, spiralling crime, discrimination against whites (well documented in the European Press) and Trump has the moral guts to call them out ??
