You think you are cute because your hair is long. Sadly, my sister and I had to deal with that ignorance growing up. It is not teasing it’s mean spirited bullying and self hatred. When I was 12 years old, I was constantly bullied by a 16 year old girl and eventually attacked. I think she wanted to ripped my hair from my head. Black people didn’t teach her to be racist. Her self hatred is a result of learned behavior from within some of our families and within the community.

I'm a 60 yr old dark skinned man from Mississippi. I was teased as a child as well. I'm the darkest of 5 boys & 4 girls. The foolishness that she's using is an excuse to be out there. I recognized that it was part of the territory to be janked. I use it as fuel to succeed regardless of what anyone said. I was proud then and now to be dark and filled with wisdom, strength, and power. I've been blessed by the Most High to live a very fulfilling life. So to hear one of us speak this way is for losers. Girl please foh, that's the men who like you so you like them. I keep telling people, you like who likes you and, everybody has their preferences. And it's not racism it's what appeals to me. Also, you look like what you look like doesn't matter if you’re, black white, brown yellow, orange, and so on, and sometimes that's not another's cup of tea.
