Community backlash against local authorities in Denton, Texas for placing handcuffs on a 10-year-old boy for misbehaving, leaving many questioning whether the police went too far.
Stupid People! Thats school need to be close! Kids with Autism is having a hardtime. Lock of It education the teachers. THEY SHOULDN'T OPEN A SCHOOL LIKE THAT.
Oh, some of these kids are allowed to just go crazy at home and be belligerent and violent and psychotic all under the guys of autism no, that’s not OK. You have to teach them how to function normal in society and it’s not normal to throw violent temper tantrum outburst, anger like that it is OK to restrain a child that is OK that’s acting psychotic, otherwise they’re gonna go and do that as an adult
It's the child is autistic, don't know what the hell he's thinking, he decided not to harm himself or not or harm or injury another person, including adult physical strength can mean none strength double, if the physical restraint is dangerous to a child with autistic experiences, is it child been diagnosed with autism like 12 or 3 levels, maybe 6 level can be more difficult and no speakable, the police officer is not necessary to use lethal force towards children autism spectrum disorder in children don't understand why they've been handcuffed in school, or don't use, your physical strength is not necessary to use with children with autism spectrum
The school and the policeman there are absolute idiots. I’m only autistic spectrum and that is the absolute wrong thing to do because restraining him only makes him more stressed out and makes the situation worse the child space to calm down and relax.
I find public schools do not provide the proper therapy that these children deserve. They focus on other students while the more severe cases fall through the cracks. Most of these educators don't have the proper training and do not provide the attention these kids require. I find they don't understand these children's behaviors especially when it comes to deescalating an outburst. As a parent I should not have to worry that educators are not providing proper support, a stable environment and our clearly not showing enough patience with their disabilities.
Review yourselves and what your lives are about. Handcuffing a kid, seen it all now. We have specialist schools in the U.K. that cater for autistic children , no-one would ever dream of doing this.
I am trained in physical intervention to manage behaviors with kiddos and putting a screaming upset child on his back with his arms behind his back like that can lead to suffocation. Thats horrible.
This can give trauma do people with autism and trauma is actually more likely in people with autism because of how their brain functions this now shows that police are untrustworthy and that you are cannot feel your emotions out he will now be traumatized for the rest of his life because a teacher couldn't just talked to him or let him calm down by himself
I really hate schools especially american schools on how they treat children with special needs ive asperges also known as high functioning autism which is higher on the spectrum, but how schools deal with special needs is disgusting if i had a kid in school special needs or not if my child was treated wrong i wouldn't have the law involved who ever was the culprit would have me to deal with and trust me i wouldn't be alone, touch my child for an outburst better call the cops on me before i show you true bloody fear, harm me fine harm my family youve already forfeited your rights
I’m someone with autism, and I see this is wrong in many ways, and there could’ve been other things you could’ve done to defuse the situation. You gotta understand people like us are likely to be more sensitive. Getting the police involved was absolutely unnecessary, since the student was simply just poking his classmates, that’s not a serious threat, police should only get involved when the student will not listen and is assaulting teachers.
I see no reason for this unless hes a genuine threat to himself or others. A meltdown is not a safety threat i speak from experience as someone with autism myself.
I think we need to stop making excuses for people with special needs. Like they aren't stupid if you show them they get different treatment because they're acting out then they know they can get away with it without having serious consequences. I saw another 9 year old boy getting arrested because he was throwing SCISSORS and other objects that could seriously hurt someone and people were pissed they they put him in handcuffs. When i was in high school a boy went with autism went up to one of the female coaches in gym class and literally liftes up her shirt and started touching her inappropriately. And she was just baby talking him like he was a toddler and not a 16 year old boy. She was literally being sa by this kid and no one did anything to help her. And another time in high school i was in health science and in one of the classes, all we did was go to play kickball with the special needs class and this boy literally had his hand down his pants and was touching himself. I get they're different, but that doesn't mean we tolerate their behavior. Sorry
Typical feral defect. "My genetic mutation should be allowed to do whatever it wants to anyone, anywhere! Muh rights!!!" Of course the parents don't do anything.
Ahh, always Texas and Florida. Massive shtholes
Stupid People! Thats school need to be close! Kids with Autism is having a hardtime. Lock of It education the teachers. THEY SHOULDN'T OPEN A SCHOOL LIKE THAT.
the school and cops violated federal laws. they then assault the child
its police policy to assault a child with disabilities. america is truley a police state

Child abuse where is cps?
Cop couldn’t handle working the streets and obviously can’t handle working inside a school
Handcuffs aren’t the answer. Basket holds are

Why did the school even call the police? They shouldn’t be at school if they can’t handle it on their own.
You do not treat a child like that, especially with autism he can’t help his behavior.
The school and the policeman there are absolute idiots. I’m only autistic spectrum and that is the absolute wrong thing to do because restraining him only makes him more stressed out and makes the situation worse the child space to calm down and relax.
Disgraceful
Drunk on power

That's what happens when cops DOESN'T understand autism spectrum disorder.
Yey

ive seen things like this too many times. this is why people hate the cops. because they go through with stuff like this
This can give trauma do people with autism and trauma is actually more likely in people with autism because of how their brain functions this now shows that police are untrustworthy and that you are cannot feel your emotions out he will now be traumatized for the rest of his life because a teacher couldn't just talked to him or let him calm down by himself
What happen?
😠
The school staff obviously overreacted by calling the stupid cops like they always do when an autistic kid gets upset
I am autistic, and how they handled this p!sses me off.

i hate being Danish. some kids in my school were violent, but didn't get to prison for it because the age of criminal responsibility is 15
He’s screaming because he doesn’t like to be touched
I see no reason for this unless hes a genuine threat to himself or others. A meltdown is not a safety threat i speak from experience as someone with autism myself.
