Burkina Faso’s military administration, under Captain Traore’s leadership, has sent a strong warning to ECOWAS that escalating tensions could spark conflicts. He emphasized that the ECOWAS forces, which were previously believed to be in reserve, are prepared to be engaged by the United armies of the alliance of Sahel States. The long-running conflict between the economic community of West African States and the coup-plagued countries of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso has recently intensified and claimed thousands of lives.
