Expelled South African ambassador to US receives hero’s welcome home | DW News

South Africa’s ambassador to the US has arrived home after being expelled by the Trump Administration.
Ebrahim Rasool was welcomed at the Cape Town airport by crowds of cheering supporters. Rasool was ordered to leave the US after Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused him of being a “race-baiting politician who hates America” and Trump. The veteran anti-Apartheid activist had said Trump’s political movement was white supremacist in nature.
DW’s Thuso Khumalo reports from Johannesburg.

  1. Well i like people who have the chuzpe to talk truth to power. In that aspect that ambassador has more grit than all those MAGA fascists combined.
    Greatings from Europe

  2. Why is South Africa committing genocide against White South Africans? Maybe DW should send some reporters down to SA and interview White South Africans and hear what they have to say?

  3. Has South Africa been accepting funds from America? If so, it is time with all the gold etc. that SA has, to stand on it's own feet and use it's own resources at home for the benefit of it's own people, many of whom are still living in squalor conditions. As for Mr. Malema, it doesn't help the image of South Africa to keep going with "Kill the famer kill the Boer!"…..We all wish South Africa well. Mrs. Rosa Larsen

  4. I know nothing about South Africa and or their politics other than Mandela a little bit. But it was a terrible example of justice from a President that embraces Putin and has a criminal record
