BEE was NEVER a tool to empower the majority or the poor. BEE was a strategic decision taken by the ANC to empower themselves, the elite and the 'connected' cadres.
The ANC knew long before 1994 that if they imposed the communist regime on South Africa, the white population would leave in droves, leaving the country in total chaos and poverty. The ANC had learned from Kenya, Mozambique, Angola Rhodesia, etc that imposing socialist/communist ideals on the country only ensure that all the whites flea and take their wealth with them, so the ANC had to devise a subtle way to keep the whites in place and to subdue them gradually, hence the famous Ramaphosa analogy of the frog in the frying pan.
The communist advisors to the ANC had been learning from the 1960/70s how not to take over a country in africa.

This woman is so cynical about it. Claiming these laws were created to address economic inequalities when the fact of the matter is that South Africa’s unemployment rose to over 35% under the ANC, poverty remained among the vast majority of black citizens, only the ones in government were benefited. And these idiots still blame an insignificant white minority that are pretty much voiceless and only remain the wealthiest (along with the black people in government) due to historical reasons and a little bit personal merit. And that’s what the ANC WANTS because they know the moment they can no longer put the blame on the Afrikaners they’re done. Thankfully there are people who have woken up to this reality.
