U.S. beefs up military presence in Caribbean



The U.S. is strengthening its military presence in the Caribbean to combat drug trafficking. Meanwhile, Venezuela has pledged more troops to fight drug trafficking following the U.S. deployment of fighter jets to Puerto Rico and a strike against a Venezuelan boat allegedly carrying drugs. Retired Rear Adm. Mark Montgomery, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, joins with more insight.

  1. Trump is desperately trying to find a small weak country to start a war with. At on time he considered Greenland but the Denmark and the EU scared him off. With a war Trump could "legitimately" claim war time powers like suspension of habeas corpus, arrest subversives such as Rosie O'Donnell and make grandiose claims of how he rebuilt the military to win wars. Meanwhile Russia, China and North Korea ar laughing themselves silly.

  2. This was not some fisherman’s boat, it was bad guys, no local fishermen can afford 4 big motors on a boat. Looks like a pirate boat or something that is up to no good. Our intelligence is top notch and wont just bomb at random.
