Madagascar: Soldiers Join Gen Z Protests; President Claims Coup Attempt | Firstpost Africa

Madagascar is gripped by widespread protests as youth and elite soldiers join forces against President Andry Rajoelina. Troops from the CAPSAT unit, which helped Rajoelina seize power in 2009, have refused orders to fire on demonstrators, while the gendarmerie has also broken ranks, acknowledging excesses during previous interventions. The unrest began over chronic power and water cuts but quickly escalated into broader anti-government demonstrations, with calls for Rajoelina’s resignation. At least 22 people have died, according to the UN, while many Malagasy fear the president may have left the country amid growing instability.

  1. Puppets your days are numbered in Africa! Where is sick of liars we're sick of fake democracy where sick of foreign interference in our affairs we're sick of leaders who do not prioritize Africans butonly work for the puppet Masters. We want leaders like to say hell have we want leaders like Abraham trououa who is a visionary and a real leader and is really about his people and not about exploiting them for the benefit of the colonizers! The revolution is in full swing!
