Hurricane Melissa intensified to a powerful Category 5 as forecasters warned the storm would cause catastrophic flash flooding, life-threatening landslides and extremely strong winds across the #Caribbean.   1. And we're also expecting a strong typhoon in the next days to come here in the Philippines (according to Windy's forecast). I was a Haiyan victim/survivor, it's kind of traumatic. And the possibility of hitting us again is very high.

    They need to evacuate because storm surges are unforgiving. I hope everyone in Jamaica will be safe.

  2. I’ve read that over 881 shelters have been set up across the island and the Ministry of Transport has deployed 30 buses to help with evacuations in areas like Portmore, Spanish Town, Rockfort, and Montego Bay.

    Not sure what is happening in other places but I’m also reading that residents report that shelters are locked or inaccessible and in certain communities, there are no official hurricane shelters, leaving them scared and unprotected
    Maybe the reporter can get some further updates on that situation?

  3. Omg, there was a bus for mandatory evacuation for people and only one person got on the bus??!!!😮 now look at the rescue and the mess!!!!1 week later!!!
